Chirk Castle Wedding – Louise and Phil

Wedding Photographer Solihull 6

Louise and Phil’s wedding at Chirk Castle was amazing. This year the weather has been incredible and almost every wedding I have photographed has been on a sunny day. This wedding was no exception, boasting awesome weather and skies a wedding photographer can only dream of. You may have noticed from viewing our galleries and recent posts that we love detailed skies that we can bring out using our signature post production techniques.

At almost every wedding, we start the preparation photos using just one light source. This light source is typically window light and we do this with both the bride and groom. Not only does this give amazingly soft, flattering light when used correctly but moulding the light in the way we do is very similar to how the lighting experts light people in movies. It will add extra detail/texture in the brides dress and the grooms suit. As the brides dress is one of the most expensive items bought for a wedding, we feel it’s important to show off these details in all its glory. Using window light correctly will also define a person’s features and give an added softness to their skin.

We met up with Phil and his groomsmen in the morning to photograph his preparation photos and the detail shots. We always allow a decent amount of time with both the bride and groom on their wedding day before the wedding starts to get some fantastic photos which will start their wedding album off beautifully.

After an hour with Phil we went to meet Louise. They were both getting changed in the Lions Quay waterside resort Hotel, the same location for their evening reception. Louise already had her hair and makeup done and looked gorgeous, her beautiful wedding dress was hanging up ready for us to photograph. While we were doing her detail photos there was a surprise knock at the door. The door opened and her brother, who was serving in the army, appeared to Lou’s surprise. It was a very emotional moment and Louise was obviously in total shock as she had no idea he was coming.

Once Louise was ready we started photographing her and her maid of honour. We then finished with some photos with Louise’s parents before they left for Chirk Castle in a retro VW camper van.

“We are so over joyed with our wedding photos! We never imagined in a million years that our photos would be so amazing!!! Thank you so much Dave. Half the time we had forgotten you were there snapping away, so it was such a lovely surprise when we got the images from you, as a lot of them were so unexpected!! We will definitely be recommending you to our friends who are getting married, as we cannot express enough what an awesome photographer you are!! Xx”

Louise and Phil Blackford

We’ve never shot a Chirk Castle Wedding before and it was one of the most amazing places we’ve ever photographed for a wedding. We’ll let the pictures below tell the rest of the story and we wish Louise and Phil all the happiness in their future together.

We’ve added a small selection of our favourite photos from their wedding below. If you are considering a Chirk Castle or a Lions Quay waterside resort wedding then please don’t hesitate to contact me.
