Haslington Hall in Cheshire is a grade 1 listed building and like their website says it’s a little gem.
I made my way up to Cheshire the night before the wedding and stayed in a local hotel to make sure I didn’t run into traffic on the day. Being late on a wedding day for me is totally unacceptable so I make sure this never happens, the only person that is traditionally allowed is the bride.
I woke up to another sunny morning with this weather being promised all day according to the BBC weather app. So it was time to have a hearty breakfast grab my gear and head over to get some pictures of Ken and his groomsmen. Ken’s nerves obviously hadn’t kicked in yet as he seemed pretty relaxed while I was taking photos of him and his family. This is normally the case with the grooms as I’m with them quite early in the morning. The same can’t be said for most of the brides I come across at the bridal prep part of the day though. This is probably due to the fact they get married around an hour or so after I arrive to do the photos so the nerves have had time to kick in.
When I arrived at Haslington Hall to take photos of Gretta I realised what a great venue the couple had chosen. The venue has loads of features and lovely grounds to take photos in. I met up with Gretta, the family and bridesmaids and got started photographing what was going on around me. Gretta was having her makeup finished while the flower girls were having their hair done. Once Gretta had got into her dress I started doing some bridal portraits in my typical style before going outside and having some fun with the bridal party.
I then made my way to St Mary’s church following the bridesmaids in their wedding car. At the church I spoke with the vicar and he gave me full permission to go where ever I wanted in the church, I made use of every angle possible without being obtrusive but still getting a large variety of photos throughout the ceremony. With the ceremony over and done with I took Gretta and Ken back into the church and used some creative lighting techniques to get some fine art styled photos I love to do.
Ceremony at Haslington Hall
I then made my way back to Haslington Hall and photographed the rest of the day there up until the first dance. All in all it was a perfect day with beautiful weather and an easy going couple.
I throughly enjoyed their wedding and I wish Gretta and Ken all the happiness in their future together.
I’ve added a small selection of photos from their wedding day below. If you are considering a Wedding at Haslington Hall, then please don’t hesitate to contact me.

stunning and beautiful photos. Well done! Love the way you documented every details before and after the ceremony.
Met this beautiful couple in Byron Bay, Australia (2011). We regretted that we did not make to their wedding in England and would like to wish them all the best from BC, Canada. (or else I will be also in one of the photo..hahaha..;)
