St Mary’s Church in Selly Oak was a fantastic church to get married at, especially for Jennifer and Dave as it was just round the corner from their house. As a Birmingham photographer we photograph lots of church weddings in Birmingham and Solihull and this was one of the nicest churches we’ve seen as you’ll see from the photos that we took of the lovely couple after the ceremony.
After the preparation photos were done in the morning we arrived at the church to find Dave, who is a firefighter in the West Midlands, had organised for a fire engine to turn up with a crew in ceremonial fire kit. This made for great photos especially as the crew raised their polished axes for the guard of Honour as the couple walked out the church.
We then drove into Birmingham town centre to Brindley place to quickly give the couple a more urban look and feel to their wedding photos. We carefully look at the direction of natural light when looking for a location to photograph the bride and groom together. We use natural light but make sure it’s directional and soft, so the it gives the couple soft flattering light on their skin, but brings out the detail in the brides dress and the grooms suit. Â
The reception was held just around the corner at Austin Court, where the speeches, wedding breakfast and 1st dance commenced.
“David Causon Photography captured the story, sentiment and every emotion of our day giving a 3D quality to our photos and adding richness to our memories
The service and professionalism we received were exemplary – highly recommended”
