Stonehouse Court Hotel Weddings – Alex and Jon

Bride and groom together at Stone House Court WeddingWaking up on the morning of Alex and Jon’s wedding and seeing the weather, we grabbed the white wedding umbrellas just in case Alex and Jon hadn’t taken theirs. We drove through torrential rain from our home to the Stonehouse Court Hotel and hoped for the weather to get better. So far every wedding we have photographed this year has had great weather so this caught us by surprise, but luckily we have ideas and lighting to cover any weather. We headed to the venue in Gloucestershire nice and early to give us plenty of time with both the bride and groom for their preparation photos.

The couple had a civil ceremony and I was able to photograph from outside the ceremony room to be more discrete and make good use of my longer lenses. We always try to be as discrete as possible and keep out of the way during the ceremony to keep the registrars and bride and groom happy, but still getting the photos needed.

Luckily the bad weather didn’t hang around for long and it turned into a lovely day with blue skies and sun for the rest of the day as you will see in the photos below. Stonehouse Court Hotel is a 17th century, grade 2 listed manor house with beautiful features and grounds. This made choosing locations to photograph Alex and Jon a very easy task indeed. The couple were so natural together and later we made good use of the night time lighting outside that Alex and Jon had setup. We photographed them using a video light with candle decorations in the pagoda, this was also where Alex and Jon got engaged, so made it really special.

“One word to you after watching our wedding photo CD…FABULOUS
Jon and I are going to have a difficult job choosing the photos for our album. There are so many natural ones which is exactly what we wanted, thank you for capturing our magical day in magical moments.”
